Collective work carried by Stimultania.

Support by the Ministry of Culture as part of the system Between images, national program of photographic and transmission workshops developed by the Diagonal network and the IME Eurométropole ARSEA / Site Ganzau.

Since 2018, Stimultania has welcomed at each exhibition a group of young people from the Eurometropolis ARSEA / Site Ganzau medical-educational institute (IME) for a time of mediation. Faced with the constant curiosity of this public for Stimultania's activities and the involvement of young people and educators, we wanted to create a joint project to allow them to discover photography differently. As part of the system Between images, a national program of photographic workshops and transmission developed by the Diagonal network, Stimultania then invites photographer Joseph Gallix to lead an artist/public creation with them in 2023.

After being introduced to the photographer's work by one of the Stimultania mediators, five young people from the IME have a first video meeting with Joseph Gallix in September 2023 where everyone shares their interests. In October, the photographer comes to meet them and suggests that they go explore the neighborhood around the Institute and photograph what catches their eye. Path in the bushes, gardens of the town of Stockfeld, the goal is to meet, to become familiar with the device and for everyone to feel confident. During the discussions, Dahlia, one of the young people, confides that she is fascinated by the political speeches: Mélenchon, Macron, Le Pen, she does not miss a single one and watches them again on replay or on YouTube. What he likes is when they get angry...All of a sudden, a subject emerges. The young people then grab a desk on wheels loaned by the Haute École des Arts du Rhin and go out into the neighborhood around the IME. All afternoon, in the rain, they stage themselves reciting political speeches in the middle of the road, in the forest or within the Institute. They also question passers-by: “In your opinion, what would be needed for people to be happier?”

In January 2024, Joseph Gallix returns to continue this time of creation with young people. Together, they go to meet the places of power in Strasbourg.
Thank you to the teams from the CeA, the city of Strasbourg and the European Parliament for welcoming them so warmly! A special thank you to Damien Fremont, elected to the CeA, Carole Zielinski, elected to the city of Strasbourg and to Mickael and Zina who welcomed us to the European Parliament.

The images produced will be exhibited in the exterior windows of Stimultania. One of them will be printed in a monumental format and exhibited for several months on the facade of the building overlooking Place Karl-Ferdinand Braun, a place which crystallizes the city's planning and policy debates.
