In April 2022, Stimultania installs Interior, on the Karl Ferdinand Braun square, a monumental photograph, taken from the series Rimbaud by Yann Datessen. The image was chosen by inhabitants of the ADOMA boarding house, in preparation for the intervention that the artist will lead with them.

Photography Interior encourages participants to tell stories. Their journey marked by precariousness, their homelessness. But also the stability found when moving into the boarding house, the joy of having a place of one's own, where to relax and put down one's suitcases. As the exchanges progress, the desire to take portraits of the residents sets in, then that of photographing the living spaces, the bedrooms, but also everything that comes to be “interior”.

“Otherwise the frequent travelers who to put it like Bashung do not respect the instructions, often our interiors are set up like showcase spaces, intimate displays, they are caverns with shelves, shelves with a whole bunch of reflections on them, the reflections projected from an even deeper interior: that of our carcasses. From one interior to the other, these four walls in which we expose our journeys, our triumphs and our pains, sometimes even without realizing it, these spaces of the very last retreat, the retreat perhaps of our destinies... In these windows so find the interiors of Alain, Hubert, Younès, Pascal, Rémy, Jean-Luc, Rachid, Sonia, or even Jean-Marc, inhabitants of the ADOMA family pension, find stories to tell you, stories about them, stories about us looking at them, the stories told by windows and reflections…”

Yann Datessen

The photographs taken are exhibited on rue Kageneck in the windows of Stimultania.

Born in 1977, Yann Datessen lives and works in Paris. He discovers and learns the profession of photographer as an autodidact, late in life. He develops plural series, over long periods of time, which are anchored in the landscape in the form of large installations in the public space or small boxes floating on European rivers available to all. Between 2016 and 2020, the photographer follows in the footsteps of Rimbaud around the world.
