Ashes, coal, bulky items, sun, phenol, plants... The evening will be punctuated by presentations, debates and discussions on photography, ecology, botany, philosophy, science and experiments.

Guided tour by Elisa Durbiano (Stimultania) and conference by Éléa Héberlé.
A selection of beers will be offered to you by the Le Garde Fou bar, partner of the event.

Flowers of fire by Anaïs Tondeur, by Elisa Durbiano (cultural mediator, Stimultania)

Come explore one of the extreme environments of the Anthropocene. The ashy soils of Europe's largest open-air landfill, plant communities that survived the eruptions of Mount Vesuvius, and species that help stabilize pollutants in the soils of the Naples region: welcome to the Land of Fires!

Project Flowers of fire (the testimony of ashes) by photographer Anaïs Tondeur and philosopher Michael Marder will be introduced by the Stimultania mediation team.

Plants set fire!, by Éléa Héberlé (biologist and independent scientific mediator)

But who are these beautiful strangers with their delicate chlorophyll colors? Plants, of course!

The discussion will focus on the fire resistance mechanisms of plants. Far from being as fragile as we suspect, you will discover their incredible strategies for resisting, or even taking advantage of, fires for their own survival! If you are eager to learn more, we will meet during this evening to stoke the embers of your curiosity in the company of Eléa Héberlé, popular science writer and editor of the blog Le Plantoscope
