Artistic intention thought out and carried by Melanie Wenger and Mathias Zwick.
Photographs taken by the students of the Koeberlé High School: the Secondes 3 in optional History of Arts teaching on the one hand, and the Terminales specializing in History of Arts.
Projects led by Stimultania Photography center.
With the support from the Ministry of Culture via the Culture Pass system.
What images are we confronted with? In what way? How do they contribute to the construction of our vision of the world? The students in the 10th and 12th grades of History of the Arts at Lycée Dr. Koeberlé are asking themselves these questions. And, alongside these questions, they are expressing themselves about academic pressure, anxiety about societal challenges, and the difficulties of identity building.
Thus, this photographic project invites them to reflect on self-image to the point of engaging in an "over-representation of self" for the Secondes and a work of representation of the city for the Terminales. Together, they think about the conception of the image (scenography, makeup, costume, lighting, framing) and take into consideration its reception.
While the young people become heroes or protagonists of intriguing stories, the high school – for the second year students – and the city – for the final year students – are transformed into imaginary places. The photographs taken are deliberately "offset" from reality: they immerse us in a dreamlike atmosphere.
These two books published by the establishment highlight the photographs, their titles and descriptions, and also serve as a catalog for the exhibitions that have taken place at the high school.
